The Peace Corps Reauthorization Act of 2023 is a proposed reauthorization that would raise volunteer readjustment allowances, facilitate return of evacuated volunteers, and codify noncompetitive federal hiring eligibility for returned Peace Corps volunteers. For Peace Corps employees, it would require a zero-tolerance illegal-drug policy, strengthen anti-retaliation protections, and authorize suspension without pay for misconduct; for volunteers, it would also require post-service health-care information.
