Secure Storage Information Act (HR1272)

Current understanding

HR1272 would require federal firearm licensees (FFLs) to provide secure storage information and offer a broader selection of secure storage devices at point of sale, expanding existing point-of-sale disclosure obligations. It would also create a new nonrefundable federal tax credit of up to $500 for qualifying gun safe purchases, providing a modest consumer subsidy for at-home firearm storage. Status: introduced.
