Mortuary Science & Funeral Director Licensing

Current understanding

Michigan regulates funeral directors and mortuary science practitioners under Article 18 of the Occupational Code (1980 PA 299, MCL 339.1801 et seq.). SB 1060 (introduced) would amend secs. 1801, 1806a, 1806b, 1810 and 1859, add a new sec. 1806c, and repeal sec. 1812 — an incremental update to existing licensure requirements rather than a new licensing pathway.
