High School Graduation Credit for Trades Work
Current understanding
Michigan HB 5648 (introduced) would amend sec. 1278a of the Revised School Code (1976 PA 451, MCL 380.1278a) and add sec. 1279i to allow students to earn credit toward high school graduation requirements by working in certain trades. The proposal creates a new pathway linking paid trades employment to diploma completion, expanding existing graduation-requirement frameworks.
