Budget Stabilization Fund Interest Redirect to Child Care Payment Fund
Current understanding
An introduced bill would amend sec. 351 of 1984 PA 431 (MCL 18.1351) to direct interest earned on Michigan’s countercyclical budget and economic stabilization fund (the state’s rainy-day fund) into the child care payment fund rather than remaining in the stabilization fund. The bill is tie-barred to SB 946’26 and does not change deposits or withdrawal rules for the principal of the stabilization fund itself. Status: introduced.
