Pupil Medically Necessary Treatment School Policy Requirement
Current understanding
HB 5044 (103rd Legislature) would amend Michigan’s Revised School Code (1976 PA 451) by adding sec. 1178b to require school districts to establish a policy allowing pupils to receive medically necessary treatment on school grounds. The bill has been introduced. Pupils with ongoing medical needs would gain a clearer administrative pathway to receive treatment during the school day.
