Patient’s Right to Independent Review Act — SUD Program References

Current understanding

The Patient’s Right to Independent Review Act (2000 PA 251, MCL 550.1901 et seq.) governs external review of adverse insurance determinations in Michigan. HB 5736 of the 103rd Legislature proposes to amend MCL 550.1903 to update references so they cover both licensed substance use disorder services programs and those exempt from licensure.
