Overdose Fatality Review Act — SUD Program References
Current understanding
The Overdose Fatality Review Act (2023 PA 313, MCL 330.3023) governs multidisciplinary review of overdose deaths in Michigan and references substance use disorder (SUD) services programs among the entities that may participate or share information. HB 5735 of the 103rd Legislature would amend section 3 of the Act to update those references so they cover both licensed SUD programs and those exempt from licensure. The bill is tie-barred to HB 5729, which restructures who must hold an SUD program license, and has been introduced.
