Current understanding

The Nonprofit Health Care Corporation Reform Act (1980 PA 350) governs Blue Cross Blue Shield-style nonprofit health care corporations in Michigan, including how they contract with and reference licensed substance use disorder services programs. HB 5734 of the 103rd Legislature proposes to amend MCL 550.1414a to update references so they include SUD programs that are exempt from licensure as well as licensed programs, tie-barred to HB 5729.
