Food Service Establishment Licensing

Current understanding

Michigan’s Food Law (2000 PA 92, MCL 289.3105 et seq.) governs licensure and regulation of food service establishments, including delegation of duties between state and local authorities and exemptions from licensure for certain persons. HB 6007 (103rd Legislature) proposes incremental amendments to sections 3105, 3113, 3129, 3139, 4101, 4105, 5101 and 6103 to modify duty delegation and expand licensure exemptions; the bill has passed a chamber.
