Essential Health Provider Recruitment Strategy

Current understanding

Michigan’s essential health provider recruitment strategy, established under secs. 2701 and 2705 of the Public Health Code (1978 PA 368), provides incentives to recruit health professionals to underserved areas of the state. HB 5985 (103rd Legislature) would expand the list of eligible provider types to include pharmacists; the bill has been introduced.
