Disability Parking Placard Certification Authority

Current understanding

Michigan’s Vehicle Code (1949 PA 300) specifies which licensed health professionals may certify that a person has a qualifying disability for the purpose of obtaining a disability parking placard. Legislation is pending to expand the list of authorized certifiers to include nurse practitioners alongside physicians and other currently authorized providers.
