Child Care Licensing Exemptions
Current understanding
Michigan’s child care licensing framework under 1973 PA 116 (MCL 722.111) requires centers providing care for children to be licensed. Proposed amendments would carve out exemptions for certain centers operating preschool classrooms, narrowing which providers must meet standard licensing requirements.
