Data Center Community Benefit Agreement Act (SB1050)

Current understanding

SB1050 would create a new standalone Michigan act requiring certain data centers to be subject to community benefit agreements as a condition of operation. It appears to be a Senate companion or parallel vehicle to HB6137, extending the community benefit framework into the Senate’s data center legislative package alongside SB1048 (prevailing wage/PLA) and SB0762 (energy & water usage reporting). Status: introduced.
