Why this matters
The notification illustrates the third-party-funded FMS model, in which European allies (here the Netherlands and Denmark) pay for US-origin munitions delivered to Ukraine rather than drawing on US appropriations. JDAM tail kits convert unguided bombs into precision weapons, so the package is materially relevant to Ukraine’s air-to-ground strike capacity. It also extends Denmark’s documented role as a financier of US arms flows to Kyiv.
