Abstract
(Proposed Rule · Environmental Protection Agency) The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to grant an extension of the applicable “Serious” area attainment date for the San Joaquin Valley nonattainment area for the 2012 annual fine particulate matter (PM2.5) national ambient air quality standards (NAAQS or “standards”) from December 31, 2025, to December 31, 2030, based on a proposed determination that the State has satisfied the statutory criteria for this extension. The EPA will accept comments on this proposed rulemaking during a 30-day public comment period.
