Abstract
(Rule · Health and Human Services Department, Food and Drug Administration) The Food and Drug Administration (FDA or we) is issuing an order to repeal the color additive regulation that allows for the use of Orange B for coloring the casings or surfaces of frankfurters and sausages. We have determined that the authorized use of Orange B has been abandoned, and we have concluded that this color additive regulation is outdated and unnecessary. Therefore, FDA is revoking the authorized use in food of Orange B in the color additive regulations.
