Prohibition of Remote Flight Dispatching
Current understanding
The FAA has proposed a rule prohibiting Part 121 air carrier dispatch and flight-following activities from being conducted outside designated dispatch or flight-following centers, except during emergencies. The rule implements Section 420 of the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024 and codifies an existing operational restriction rather than introducing new safety requirements. Status: proposed rule.
