Enhancing Detection of Human Trafficking Act
Current understanding
The Enhancing Detection of Human Trafficking Act directs the Department of Labor to train selected employees to detect human trafficking, identify suspected victims, and refer cases to the Department of Justice and other authorities. The practical effect is to add DOL workforce-inspection and wage-enforcement personnel as an additional referral channel into federal anti-trafficking enforcement, complementing DHS- and DOJ-led detection efforts.
