Tobacco Establishment Registration & Product Listing (FDA)
Current understanding
FDA regulates tobacco products in part by requiring establishments that manufacture, prepare, compound, or process tobacco products to register with the agency and submit product listings. A proposed rule would extend these registration and product listing requirements to foreign owners and operators, who are currently exempt, aiming to close an information gap between domestic and foreign entities supplying the U.S. tobacco market.
