Right to Try for Individualized Treatments
Current understanding
Federal Right to Try law (2018) allows eligible patients with life-threatening conditions to access certain investigational drugs outside FDA expanded access. The Right to Try for Individualized Treatments Act (S4698, 119th Congress) seeks to extend these protections to individualized/experimental treatments (e.g., patient-specific therapies) and was referred to the Senate HELP Committee. Status: introduced; no committee action or vote yet.
