Remote Patient Monitoring Coverage (Medicare)

Current understanding

Medicare currently requires a device used for remote physiologic monitoring (RPM) to collect data on at least 16 days in a 30-day period for the service to be billable. Legislation is being introduced to lower or waive that threshold, temporarily reviving COVID-era flexibilities that allowed billing after only two days of data collection, with CMS reporting on utilization.
