Older Americans Act Reauthorization
Current understanding
The Older Americans Act (OAA) authorizes federal funding for aging services including congregate and home-delivered meals, caregiver support, elder rights protections, and workforce programs administered through Area Agencies on Aging. The Older Americans Act Reauthorization Act of 2025 would extend OAA programs through FY2030, add flexibility to allow carryout meals at congregate meal sites, and authorize a national resource center to support growth of the direct care workforce.
