Metastatic Breast Cancer Access to Care Act

The Metastatic Breast Cancer Access to Care Act (S3442) would eliminate both the 5-month SSDI waiting period and the subsequent 24-month Medicare waiting period for individuals diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, allowing them to access disability cash benefits and Medicare coverage immediately upon qualifying determination. It is a disease-specific variant of broader waiting-period reforms such as the Stop the Wait Act. Status: introduced.
