FAA Pilot & ATC Medication Transparency

Current understanding

Federal legislation has been proposed to require the FAA to compile and publicly publish an annually updated list of medications considered safe for pilots and air traffic controllers who hold medical certification. The Aviation Medication Transparency Act of 2025 (HR2592) is at the introduced stage and would codify transparency around existing FAA aeromedical guidance rather than change underlying certification standards.
