NCUA FCU Volunteer Official Expense Reimbursement
Current understanding
The NCUA is amending Part 701 to permit federal credit unions to reimburse volunteer board members and other volunteer officials for reasonable dependent care expenses incurred while performing official credit union duties. The change expands the categories of reimbursable expenses (previously limited to travel and similar costs) and is intended to reduce a financial barrier to volunteer board service, particularly for volunteers with caregiving responsibilities.
