CFTC Whistleblower Award Rules

Current understanding

The CFTC has proposed amendments to its whistleblower award determination rules, largely modeled on the SEC’s whistleblower program, to improve efficiency, transparency, and predictability in claims processing. The amendments also update internal references to reflect the 2025 organizational move of the CFTC’s Whistleblower Office. Status: proposed rule; comment period open, no final rule adopted.
