Northern Rockies Ecosystem Protection Act
Current understanding
HR2420 (119th Congress) would designate additional wilderness, wild and scenic rivers, and biological connecting corridors across federal lands in the Northern Rockies region (Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Oregon, and Washington). As of March 2025 the bill has been referred to the House Committee on Natural Resources with no further action; practical effects on land management, permitting, and resource development would depend on enactment.
