ePermit Act (NEPA Digitization)
Current understanding
The ePermit Act (introduced) would require the Council on Environmental Quality and federal agencies to digitize NEPA environmental reviews via common data standards, minimum functional requirements, shared services, and a unified interagency cloud-based authorization portal by December 1, 2027. The practical effect, if enacted, would be a shift from agency-by-agency paper/PDF processes toward a shared digital permitting stack intended to reduce duplication and improve tracking of review timelines. Status: introduced legislation; no implementation yet.
