Northern Border Security Enhancement and Review Act
Current understanding
S850 (Northern Border Security Enhancement and Review Act) would require DHS to conduct a northern border threat analysis every three years, update the Department’s northern border strategy by 2026 and every five years thereafter, and direct CBP Air and Marine Operations to develop effectiveness metrics for air and maritime border security. The bill layers periodic assessment and performance-measurement requirements onto existing DHS/CBP northern border frameworks. Status: introduced.
