No Retaining Every Gun In a System That Restricts Your Rights Act (S119)

Current understanding

S119 would end the current requirement that federal firearms licensees deliver out-of-business firearm transaction records (ATF Forms 4473 and A&D books) to the ATF’s Out-of-Business Records Center, and would further require ATF to destroy all such records it already holds. Practically, this would eliminate a longstanding tracing resource used to trace firearms whose originating dealer has closed, with fiscal implications limited to ATF records-destruction operations and reduced records-center workload. Status: introduced.
