Alaska Native Vietnam Era Veterans Land Allotment Extension

Current understanding

Public Law 119-63 (2025) extends the application deadline for the Alaska Native Vietnam Era Veterans Land Allotment Program by five years, from December 29, 2025 to December 29, 2030. Eligible Alaska Native veterans who served during the Vietnam era (or their heirs) may continue applying for allotments of up to 160 acres of federal land in Alaska administered by BLM. The extension is an incremental continuation of an existing program rather than a new authority; no new appropriations or eligibility categories are added.

Evidence log

  • 2025-12-10 — Public Lands Military Readiness Act of 2025: cross-connection with public-lands-military-readiness-act-2025: Both bills adjust federal land status in Alaska via legislative extensions/allotments; the Military Readiness Act withdraws Alaska training-range lands from public land laws while the Vietnam Veterans allotment extension governs individual Native veteran land selections on federal lands.
