Current understanding

The Unserialized Firearm Harm Oversight and Serialization Act of 2026 (HR8059) would impose new federal requirements on unserialized firearms (commonly called ‘ghost guns’), building on prior ATF ghost gun rulemaking and earlier congressional efforts.
