Specialty Crops Mechanization Equipment Grants

Current understanding

HR5097 would direct USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service to establish a grant program helping specialty crop producers acquire mechanized or automated equipment and receive related training, with a 50% cost-share requirement. The proposal extends existing USDA grant mechanisms to labor-saving technology adoption in fruit, vegetable, and nut production. Status: introduced in the 119th Congress.
